Drug & Alcohol Awareness Sessions
We offer free, inter-active, awareness-raising sessions for schools and colleges in Solihull, which can be delivered face to face or online. These are designed to provide young people with the facts about drugs and alcohol in relation to their health and the law, bust myths and ensure they know how to stay safe and access support should they need it.
In-School ‘Ambassador’ Programme
We are currently piloting an in-school ‘Ambassador’ programme, which involves working with two schools to recruit young people in 9 to become SIAS Ambassadors. We train them to create communications campaigns related to drugs and alcohol that they deliver within their schools. This includes conducting market research in the schools to understand the thoughts and habits of the young people towards drugs and alcohol. We believe peer to peer communication will be potent in changing attitudes and beliefs.
Tailored Support for Schools & Colleges
If you are concerned about drug or alcohol use amongst pupils or students at your school or college, we can arrange a tailored package of support for you including:
- training and awareness sessions for staff and young people;
- education on harm reduction and staying safe;
- a drive to engage those who need it with treatment.
